In this article, a circumscribing polygon integrated modular motor drive topology with shared cooling for the power converter and electrical machine is proposed benchmarked nonintegrated version. The applied on an axial flux permanent magnet synchronous machine. capable of mechanically mounting converter, sufficiently both machine, combining them into same housing. mechanical thermal design are done to ensure decoupling between winding, provide low resistance from ambient. Due limited space available module, wide bandgap semiconductor technology chosen implementation thanks their small package size losses. A highly modular, integrated, compact achieved compared one. computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model developed one module evaluate maximum current that can be injected by without exceeding junction temperature limit switches winding temperature. An experimental setup built validate results introduced multiphysics models.
